CHORAL CONDUCTING WORKSHOP
with prof. Gergely KAPOSI

Gergely KAPOSI is a conductor, graduate of the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music.
He has worked with a number of major Hungarian theatres and choirs:

  • Conductor at the Hungarian State Opera House;
  • Artistic Director of the Csokonai Theatre in Debrecen and the National Theatre Győr;
  • Artistic Director of the Saint Joseph Choir, Budapest.

    ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

    INTENDED FOR:
    • Choral conductors and choral singers
    • Students of music schools
    • Music graduates
    • Anyone who is interested in new professional contacts and would like to share professional experience
    PLANNED ACTIVITIES:
    • Training in conducting technique with a high-class European conductor
    • Working with a choir on music pieces from the proposed program
    • Choral singing experience
    • Professional discussions, lectures
    • Conducting one of the pieces in the final concert
    The workshop will be held in English.
    For participants and listeners
    the translation into Russian will be organized.

    TYPES OF PARTICIPATION
    ACTIVE Participation
    Active Participation requires pre-approval based on video materials and will include:

    • Individual work on conducting technique;
    • Working with choir under the supervision of maestro Kaposi;
    • Participation in lectures/discussions;
    • Participation in choir rehearsals (and the concert) as a singer of the choir;
    • Conducting one of pieces at the final concert on the stage of the Gnesins Academy
    • Workshop Participation Certificate
    • Photos and video recordings of rehearsals and the final concert
      PASSIVE Participation
      Passive Participation will include:


      • Attending lectures/discussions, conducting lessons of the active participants, choir rehearsals and the final concert as attendees
      • Workshop Attendance Certificate
